As part of a broader organisational restructure, data networking research at Swinburne University of Technology has moved from the Centre for Advanced Internet Architecture (CAIA) to the Internet For Things (I4T) Research Lab.

Although CAIA no longer exists, this website reflects CAIA's activities and outputs between March 2002 and February 2017, and is being maintained as a service to the broader data networking research community.

  • CAIA lab maps (June 27th, 2012) Not quite a tool, but a Quake3 map of the current CAIA lab. Players are "little" people running around the lab like deadly and competitive mice.   • pkthisto-0.3.4 (March 31st, 2005) Packet traffic analysis tool for extracting packet length histograms and inter-packet arrival histograms of online game traffic. Performs real-time capture (through BPF) or post-analysis of tcpdump files. This version uses NAM (Not Automake) instead of automake and includes some bug fixes. README.txt
  • saglu-0.1(February 17th, 2005) The purpose of the Self-Adjusting Game Lagging Utility (SAGLU) is to make multiplayer game servers fair. SAGLU achieves this through latency balancing, ensuring that all players have an equal ping. SAGLU can be used with existing game servers e.g. Quake, Enemy Territory, Half-Life. README.txt
